GUDESEN makes a crystal roller shutter. It’s see-through. Polycarbonate slats.
Most shutters block everything. Light can’t get in. You can’t see out. This one is different.
Light comes right through. You can see outside clearly. So if you have a shop, it doesn’t look dark and closed even when the shutter is down. People walking by can still see what’s inside. You can leave products on display after hours. Security cameras can still see what’s happening. It’s transparent but still closed.
Don’t think see-through means weak.
That polycarbonate material is tough. Impact resistant. Someone tries to kick it in? Not easy. Vandalism? Not happening. Weather? Fine. There are guide rails on the sides. The locking system is built into the electric operation. So security is solid. It just doesn’t look like a solid wall of metal.
Operation is simple. Tubular motor. Quiet. Remote control or a wall switch. Push a button, it goes up. Push again, it goes down. Takes a few seconds. No cranking by hand. If the power goes out, there’s a manual override. So you’re not stuck.
The material won’t turn yellow over time. UV resistant. Won’t get brittle from sun. Waterproof. Dust resistant. Rain and wind don’t bother it. Clean it once in a while. That’s about it.
Optional upgrade — sensor system. If something is in the way when the shutter closes, it stops and reverses. Also you can get it custom made to the exact millimeter of your opening. No gaps.
Daylight comes through, so you don’t always need lights on during the day. Saves a bit on electricity.
Where do people use these? Retail stores. Showrooms. Restaurant patios. Office lobbies. Garage doors. Anywhere you want security but don’t want to feel like you’re locking yourself in a box.
Not just a barrier. Just a smarter way to do it.
